Cirrhosis, or chronic damage and scarring of the liver, has been definitively linked with excess alcohol consumption. It is also fatal. With facts as definitive as those, one would think that excess alcohol consumption might look less desirable. Unfortunately, the states do not agree.
Deaths from cirrhosis of the liver amongst 25 to 34 year-olds have been on the rise and Dr. Anton Bilchik is not the only doctor who has noticed. Young people are drinking to excess and the results can be terminal.
Why is this happening? Are these death’s preventable?
