In a recent study conducted by the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, researchers analyzed patient data in an attempt to determine whether or not adjuvant chemotherapy use in patients with earlier-stage colon cancer is more harmful than beneficial. Reuters Health interviewed Dr. Anton Bilchik regarding the results of this research, in which he commented, “Registry studies . . . are limited because they are retrospective and do not have details on surgical and pathological quality measures.” He provided additional comments on the importance of accurately staging cancer patients, which you can read in its entirety here:
