Camille Grammer, TV star from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, recently announced on social media that she was diagnosed with squamous cell skin cancer. During her announcement, she advocated that women should really “listen to your bodies” and that she has a genetic disposition to cancer due to Lynch Syndrome.
Self.com closely followed Grammer’s diagnosis and reached out to Dr. Anton Bilchik to get additional insight into the unknown Lynch Syndrome that she mentioned.
“That Lynch syndrome that Grammer mentions is indeed a genetic abnormality that raises your risk of several cancers, including skin cancer…However, it’s much more common to get squamous cell carcinoma from sun exposure than Lynch syndrome, even if you do have the genetic abnormality,” he states.
