At Stage 0 (Carcinoma in Situ), treatment can be done by local excision or with a simple polypectomy. At Stages I and II, a patient will likely undergo resection and anastomosis. Stage III patients can have chemotherapy after resection and anastomosis and at Stage IV a new host of surgeries is available depending on the location and magnitude of the cancer.
