Recently, scientists at the University of Adelaide in Australia completed research that shows that mistletoe could possibly work as a treatment for patients with colon cancer. Anton Bilchik, MD applauds these advances as researchers around the world look for new ways to treat, and ultimately cure, cancer. The scientists found that mistletoe can possibly become an alternative to chemotherapy as it has properties that have shown to be effective in killing the cancer cells. While there is still much research to be conducted and testing to be done before a treatment is introduced, the advances in the study are positive for the medical field moving forward.
